Vilamendhoo Island Resort, surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and long stretches of white, sandy beach, the only resort on the island of Vilamendhoo, is 900 m long by 250 m wide, about 5 acres. Your seaplane transfer from Male’ International Airport is a scenic, 25 minute flight.

With one of the best house reefs in the Maldives, the great strengths of Vilamendhoo Island Resort have always been snorkeling and diving, and affordable accommodation. After a major renovation it was re-opened as a luxury resort than ever.

The hotel provides equal opportunities for both categories of guests: families and couples, and is actually divided into two areas: for adults and another part for all ages. If the western half of Vilamendhoo is strictly “adults only”, the eastern half is given to those who travel with children, which in general make up 5% of the total number of guests. The resourt has a family swimming pool with a bar and a playground for children. Children can only stay in the Garden Rooms and Beach Villas.

Accommodation

With 184 rooms, Vilamendhoo Island Resort & Spa is a luxury resort on a private island with a magnificent green and cozy landscape. The rooms are spacious and beautiful with furnishings from bright and playful to sober and chic. There are also Water Villas that grow from the pier at the western end.

13 Garden Rooms are in blocks of 4 or 5 rooms with four poster bed, tile floor, closed (not partially open-air bathroom) a lovely view of the tropical gardens and seperated one from the other by a privacy screen (42 sqm);

111 Beach Villas are located on the beach with a beautiful view of the lagoon,four poster bed, tile floor, partially open-air bathroom with double sinks and a small tropical garden (55 sqm);

30 Jacuzzi Beach Villas are Beach Villas, more spacious, with wood floor, an iPod docking station, a private, walled-in outdoor area featuring a Jacuzzi for two “under the stars”, a wooden sundeck,chaise lounges and a shade umbrella (65 sqm);

30 Jacuzzi Water Villas are located over-the-water, in the lagoon…a short walk along your private jetty to this secluded hideaway featuring a larger bedroom,wood floor, an iPod docking station/sound tower, a tea/coffee/espresso machine; a spacious, partially open-air bathroom with double sinks, a private, walled-in outdoor area featuring a Jacuzzi for two “under the stars”, a wooden sundeck with chaise lounges, a shade umbrella, tropical plants,a private sundeck with stairs into the sea and magnificent views (85 sqm);

There are 2 restaurants, both with the same menu, where you enjoy “all you can eat” buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a variety of international and regional cuisines to please everyone’s taste.

Friday night dinner is Maldivian night with a themed menu and waiters in traditional dress

Sunday breakfast welcomes you with complimentary Champagne

You are assigned to your own table throughout your stay so that you may enjoy your privacy, or you are welcome to invite friends to join you, as and when you please. Your waiter will make you feel welcome and at home with his friendly and attentive service. The buffet lines include live action cooking stations where food is prepared to your order Soups, breads and desserts are homemade and the fresh, tropical fruits are delicious

Dining rooms are divided into 2 separate areas which provide spacious seating, and in the traditional style are open-air, with sand floor and interior thatched roofs. There is also outdoor seating on a wooden deck.

The Funama Restaurant is for guests staying in the Garden rooms and the Beach Villas and is located in the center of the island. There is also outdoor seating on a wooden deck.

The Ahima Restaurant is for guests staying in the adults only Jacuzzi Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Water Villas and is located on the western end of the island. There is also outdoor seating on a wooden deck.

A`la Carte Restaurants

The Asian Wok Restaurant & Bar over-the-water restaurant, specializing in Southeast Asian cuisine and Teppanyaki. Dinner 1930 – 2130. Reservations recommended. Located on the eastern end of the island. There is also outdoor seating on a wooden deck

The Hot Rock Restaurant & Bar featuring seafood, steak or chicken cooked at your table on volcanic “hot rocks”. Dinner: 1930 – 2130.
