The Nautilus Maldives Location
This tiny sliver of sand and coconut palms is 130km northwest of Velana International Airport. It’s far enough to feel remote and isolated, but not so out-of-the-way that it feels like a massive schlep following a long-haul journey. The seaplane is an adventure in its own right, buzzing over patches of dark deep ocean and shallow turquoise lagoons. After half an hour of mouthing “wow” over the sound of the roaring propellers, you’ll splashdown beside a bobbing pontoon and be taken the final 10 minutes on a 55-foot luxury yacht. There are some other low-rise resorts on the horizon, but it all adds to the desert island vibe.
